Introducing my new video Archive!
If you've been following me on social media for a while, you probably already know this, but from the fall of 2015 to the fall of 2019, I had an active YouTube channel where I posted writing pep talks, tips & tricks videos, writer life vlogs, and BTS videos from all of my big author events! I was lucky enough to garner over 30,000 subscribers and posted well over 100 videos. Those four years on YouTube were so much fun, and I absolutely loved sharing my journey and connecting with so many wonderful people. However, as the saying goes, all good things must eventually come to an end. Due to mental health and privacy reasons, I made the decision to stop making/posting videos after Seeker came out in September of 2019. I also decided to pull down my channel. I did this for many reasons, most of them personal, but ultimately I just felt as though it was time to close that chapter of my life. Now, that I'm a year removed from the decision, I've realized just how much I miss documenting my author journey. For a while now, I've been trying to figure out a way to still share the occasional video or vlog without the expectation of posting regular and consistent content, while also ensuring that I did not trigger myself from a mental health standpoint. I also wanted to make sure that anything I did moving forward gave me the option to create some boundaries. I've had some pretty scary invasions of privacy over the years, so I wanted to make sure that I had a bit more control over who could actually view the videos. Well, I'm excited to say that I've found a solution! Vimeo is a video-hosting platform that offers some very robust privacy settings and gives me complete control over how the videos are viewed! So, I've decided to create a video archive that is password protected and only available for my newsletter subscribers! The video archive will have a bunch of my old videos housed on it, and any new videos I create will also be hosted on Vimeo. I am really excited about continuing to document my journey, while also giving my subscribers access to some of my old videos! If you're interested in checking out the archive, head over to https://vimeo.com/kimwritesbooks! You'll need a password to access the videos, which I will be sending out to subscribers very soon. Be sure to check your email! If you are already a subscriber and haven't gotten your email containing the password, just send me an email and I'll get it to you! I hope you guys are as excited as I am about this! I think it's the perfect compromise and I am super pumped to be able to continue taking you along for the ride of my author journey!
